Reported in the Chicago Tribune today, the controversy surrounding Sammy Sosa’s lighter skin has finally been revealed. Nur76 one of Europe’s leading skin lightening manufacturers cannot confirm or deny Sammy’s use of their products but in recent news and blogs the Nur76 name has come up time and time again. Nur76 develops custom skin lightening formulations for high profile clients turning over 20 million a year on skin lightening products alone. There is a disccussion now brewing as to whether Sosa is ashamed to be black, you can join the discussion here: http://www.thestudentroom.co.uk/showthread.php?t=1091621

I decided to lighten my skin after people started comparing me other lighter skinned people. I hate being compared and it drove me to want to change my skin for the better. My journey started with research on what lightens the skin, how skin darkens and how some of us have patchy skin. Things lie blotches and hyperigmentation caused by various factors including the sun makes us look ugly. Have you ever popped out for a few minutes to come back and find that you’ve got a brand new freckle?

Anyway back to my story, this worry of being compared and this feeling of being ugly gave me a new boost to find a way for me to be beautiful. My research found a lot of creams, lotions and potions that contained melanin inhibiting ingredients that lighten the skin. The first one I tried was fair and lovely which is cheap as chips, actually its even cheaper and I only got a temporary effect. Back to more skin lightening, my search goes on and i’ll let you know what I tried next!
